Welcome to the FAQ of the Wordpress Flash Uploader.

I will add the most interesting questions and answers from users  to this page.

  1. The flash does not work
The flash which is used it the TWG Flash Uploader. Most of the problems can be solved by reading the FAQ of TFU where 99% if the possible problems are already covered. So please go to http://www.tinywebgallery.com/de/tfu/web_faq.php first and read howto 1. If you still don’t get it to work please use the forum for more help.

  2. How to change the colors of the Flash.
Please read howto 9 of the TFU howtos.

  3. Why have you started this project?
I wanted to use Wordpress on this host but none of the internal uploaders worked for me. Because I have already implemented the TWG Flash Uploader and the Joomla Flash Uploader I have a lot of experience with uploading files on almost any system.  So I started with WFU. And you don’t only get  a simple uploader but you can now also synchronize your uploads and manage your whole Wordpress install.

Have fun using WFU,

Michael

    Two questions…

    1. Is it possible to activate Sync Media Library without the flash uploader?

    2. I’m trying to put together a shared media library for a WordPress MU site where all uploads from different blogs go into the same folder, then I run Sync Media Library to create a single library that includes images from Blog 1, Blog 2, etc. The only problem is that the plugins imports automatically created thumbnails (e.g. I want to import image.jpg but not image-150×150.jpg) – is there any way around this?

    Thanks!

      Hi,

      1. No – They are bundeled – but you can use the Synch media library without using the Uploader. But this is maybe a good idea for the next version too make this possible.

      2. The plugin does not know what is a thumbnail and what not – it could only assume it. But this could be an enhancement for the next version as well.

Cool, thanks Michael. I’m thinking that I’ll try to hack WP to save thumbnails somewhere else, then I can create the gallery without them.

the the snych plugin there is one function that searches the files that should be imported – you can try to enhance that if you like.

I keep getting this error message. I upgraded and registered to the paid version of WP Flash Uploader. But my “Sync Media Library” keeps giving this error message.
Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/content/89/5039489/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-flash-uploader/inc/wfu-sync.php on line 329

    Could you help?

Since WFU 2.9.1 is possible to use the uploader and the synch of the media library separately. Simply select in the config what you want to use.
